THE BRIDE TO BE (POEM)

p.c - desktop nexnus (via google search)

Carefully carrying her ornaments of shyness and pride,
Dressed in Crimson red Saree, was the bride.
Sitting with her legs flexed
she controlled her emotions that vexed

As the bridesmaid applied henna
she felt a temporary amnesia.
Her soul cried, wanting to stay back
instead, turning her mind claustrophobiac

Despite being treated as a queen
she didn't really wanna be carried on the palanquin,
As her tensions were about to endure
the gathering reached the fire pure

She had no little idea what the rituals were
but silently sat, totally unaware
Soon, the groom applied red on the bride's forehead
yet another juvenile married, something that remained unsaid

  2. With early marriage all dreams and aspirations die. It's a hard feeling to leave home and everything behind but it's harder to see your dreams fade away.
Touching, especially the last few lines.

  4. A really touchy poem which has everything, I mean every feeling has been put into white and black of the bride before her marriage. And believe me, I think, I've never ever read any poem about the bride.

And I'm a die heart fan of your trick. The way you play with words is amazing. In fact, I love it. And one more thing, I'm in love with your writing style!

Thank you for sharing such an amazing poem with us!
